  • Taken from the Featherblade of our Grass Fed Native Breed Beef, our Flat Iron Steak is a perfect balance of flavour and tenderness.

Named 'Flat Iron' because this steak resembles the shape of an old-fashioned iron, these finely marbled and lean steaks are perfect for grilling in a hot pan, or sizzling on the BBQ

Our Grass Fed Beef Flat Iron Steak is wonderfully tender, we recommend you cook the steaks rare or medium, before thinly slicing and enjoying with a glass of really good wine and delicious creamed spinach.

    Each steak weighs approximately 500g

  • 100% Grass Fed Beef

  • Defrost the steaks by placing them into a bowl of cool water (still in their packaging). They should thaw in less than 10 minutes. Once thawed, remove the steaks from their packaging and dry them all over using a kitchen towel. Season well with good quality pure Sea Salt. Take a castiron pan and heat it until it is very hot. Without adding any oil, place the steak in the centre of the pan. Cook on one side for three minutes.Turn over and cook on the other side for three minutes, until the juices start to appear.Cook for a total of six minutes, then rest uncovered for at least 10 minutes.

  • All of our meat is delivered frozen ready to pop straight into your freezer, once defrosted these can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Flat iron is taken from the featherblade, in the shoulder of the animal. It's named after its resemblance to an old-fashioned iron, and is a finely marbled, lean cut offering a perfect balance of flavour and tenderness. Ours comes from grass-fed native breed beef.

  • Cook it fast in a very hot pan or on the barbecue. We recommend rare or medium, cooking until the first juices appear on the surface, then resting it well. Slice it thinly before serving for the most tender result.

  • Yes, it's wonderfully tender when cooked fast and rare, and thinly sliced against the grain. Being lean and finely marbled, it delivers outstanding flavour without being fatty, which is why it's such a well-loved cut.
