  • Our Grass-Fed Beef Chuck Steak is a proper, full-flavoured steak, packed with beautiful natural marbling and deep, rich taste. Sourced from 100% grass-fed, slow-grown native breed cattle, this is high-welfare beef, reared the right way for exceptional eating quality.

A well-worked cut from the forequarter, chuck steak is known for its robust flavour and tender bite when cooked properly. With a good sear in a hot pan the marbling melts into the meat, creating an incredibly juicy, deeply satisfying steak. Best served medium-rare to medium, with plenty of time to rest, this is a cut that delivers on taste and succulence.

It’s also a wonderfully versatile choice. While it shines as a stand alone steak, chuck steak is a wonderful choice for slow-cooking, unlocking its melting tenderness, making it a great option for stews, ragùs, and hearty pies.

Our native breed cattle roam freely on nutrient-rich pasture, developing their unique depth of flavour that sets this steak apart. With no artificial additives or unnecessary intervention, this is proper, slow-grown beef, perfect for those who appreciate real food.

    Each steak weighs approximately 150g

  • Defrost the steaks by placing them into a bowl of cool water (still in their packaging). They should thaw in less than 10 minutes. Once thawed, remove the steaks from their packaging and dry them all over using a kitchen towel. Season well with good quality pure Sea Salt.

Take a cast iron pan and heat it until it is very hot. Do not add any oil to the meat or the pan.

Place the steak in the pan and cook for one minute. Turn over and cook on the other side for a further minute, until the juices start to appear on the surface.

Turn over and cook for two and half minutes, flipping over onto each side (you could add butter and herbs at this stage and baste).

The cooking time should be five minutes in total.

Rest uncovered for at least five minutes - be patient as this bit is key.

  • All of our meat is delivered frozen ready to pop straight into your freezer, once defrosted these can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • To cook our 100% Grass-Fed Chuck Steak, bring it to room temperature and season generously before searing it in a hot pan for 3-4 minutes per side, allowing the rich marbling to melt into the meat. For a slower, melt-in-the-mouth result, brown the steak first, then braise gently in stock or wine for 2-3 hours, creating a deeply flavoured, tender dish. Perfect for those who appreciate proper, slow-grown beef.
