  • Making great stock is so much easier if you start with the right ingredients. Our chicken carcasses are from our flock of Properly Free Range birds. Their free-range lifestyle, involving lots of roaming around grass fields foraging for insects and eating plenty of forage, combined with their simple diet means they develop strong bones full of really nutritious marrow.

Perfect for making stocks, broths and soups.

If purchasing for your pet, please ensure the carcass is consumed raw.

    Each carcass weighs approximately 450g.

  • Free Range Chicken

  • Place the carcass and some diced veg like celery, onion and carrots into a large deep pot and cover with water so the carcasses are neatly submerged.

Put the lid on the pot and bring to the boil, skim off any of the foam of that bubbles to the top so that your stock will be clear once finished.

Simmer on the lowest setting of your hob for roughly 6 hours, but really as long as you can leave it. The longer you cook it the more gelatinous your stock will be.

  • All of our meat is delivered frozen ready to pop straight into your freezer, once defrosted these can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.

FAQs

Your questions answered, all in one place.

View All
  • Traditional stocks, broths and soups. Slowly simmering the bones and cartilage extracts flavour and gelatine, giving a finished stock with real body.

  • Birds that roam and forage build stronger, denser bones with more marrow than caged or barn-reared birds. That richness feeds directly into the pot.

  • Simmer gently for 3–4 hours to draw out the flavour and natural gelatine from the bones. Avoid a rolling boil, which can make the stock cloudy.
